Challenge #8
Poetry!

This will be the final challenge!

What you need to do:

You must write a poem! It must relate to the following themes:

- Waiting
- Joy
- Love poem to a judge

What the Judges are looking for:
We are looking for a poem that meets its objective - whether to be making us laugh, or making us feel sad. In poetry, sometimes simplicity is the best. Use of language will be judged, but poetry is about connection and making the person reading it feel connected to what it is you're attempting to achieve.

The judges will score according to the below.

- Relation to theme, and whether you have conveyed what it is you are attempting.
- Use of language and imagery
- Use of structure
- Our own emotional reaction.

The deadline for this challenge is Friday, 18th August, 10:02pm BST

Standard rules apply

I dunno if poems in Spanish are legal (or will be deported by Trump). :noes: This was actually meant for the talent show, but couldn't record it on time. This poem is a surrealist interpretation of the struggle that signifies waiting for an answer to one's most personal questions, for us, late bloomers, who never come to accept ourselves as having an attraction towards the same (or both) genders until our final teen years. The rest, well, pretty much explains itself. :P

At the bottom, a rough translation to English. I am willing to record it if you guys want to :swg:

Perfidia
Oh, rica selva adolescente
Que se desnuda por momentos
Oh, frágil fruto incandescente
Que me resquebraja en lamentos

Oh, terregal partido en cientos
Apolínea potestad tú coruscas
Oh, gacela ignota a los tiempos
Adelfa inocua, veneno buscas

Bebo al tóxico néctar fino
De labios vítreos en turba
Amargor férreo y dulcino
Blancor ajeno me perturba

Si el final es definitivo
Y si lo incierto es certero
Horrendo impulso volitivo
Mecerá al cadáver postrero

Perfidy
Oh, rich and adolescent jungle
That reveals itself to me some moments
Oh, fragile and incandescent fruit
That tears me to pieces

Oh, land broken into a hundred parts
You coruscate Apollonian majesty
Oh, gazelle impervious to the times
Innocuous oleander that looks for poison

I drink the fine and toxic nectar
Of glass lips in peat
Strong and sweet bitterness
While the otherness of white disturbs me

If the end is clear
And uncertainty is precise
A horrendous volitional impulse
Will rock the cradle of the corpse
"Look on my works, ye mighty and despair".

I know some of you are looking at the scoreboard and feeling a little down, but I'm just going to remind you that a lot can change in the last couple of challenges. This is what happened last year in the Poetry challenge and Middle Earth ended up snatching the win overall after being 3rd place most of the comp.

Well I wasn't going to write any poetry but then I had to for my summer work so I knocked out two birds with one stone by writing to one of these themes haha. This is for the theme of waiting.

Shall I compare myself to another's way?
Been told this since the ultimate first day,
To turn both cheeks away from peer pressure,
So I may locate my inner treasure.
Yet difficult I find to heed these words,
Flying from my conscience like flocks of  birds.
My own thoughts soon like theirs decide to stay,
The new unwell thoughts soon do so betray,
My own morals and thoughts from this last may.
In count my unique thoughts do not measure,
To the uniform thoughts taken on with pleasure.
Yet deep inside these unique thoughts do scream,
In hopes of escaping the ‘normal’ scheme,
Sitting restless in their eternal wait.

This is my entry under the theme of "Joy". Just to give a bit of context, it was based on an actual experience I had with my crush who kept on flitting between girls.

Hot tea to soothe the nerves,
But little cooled my mind.
Words you spoke so grim fast;
But thoughts I could not find.
Hot lips, to tea, to sip:
More words and news I had heard
Before but still enjoyed,
But still knew to be but
Hot mists and wavering steams
Of words and phrases.
Golden touch to china
Cups and honey and milk,
Pouring into the sweet
Conversation once more.
So you say, once again,
There's someone new, again?
Golden smiling from you --
Always golden nowadays --
She must be good for you.
And in my forgotten joy
I looked over your shoulder
To see a fading world,
Where faces melted into winds
And brown leaves drift beyond
The boiled sugar windows.

I wasn't really inspired when I wrote this so it's a bit short... it's basically about waiting for "the one" but not knowing what to do in the mean time. Hope you like it!

the train

some days feel like years
some years feel like days
time can drag or speed by
i'm always on the same station

hurdles on the tracks
broken brakes, open cracks
i wish i could drive the train
let the wheels go my way

but i'm not meant to drive anything
but my desires into silence
my polished wheels would lead
me to the loneliest island

guess i'm just meant to wait
for that train still far away
i wouldn't mind waiting for years
if only those years felt like a day

Jimjam mi amor

This goes out to my daddy; Jamie
I'm intoxicated by you, could you blame me?
I'm a wild animal, only you can tame me.
I'll submit to your monster cock while you yell "obey me"
Then you can tie me up and maim me.

I decided to write a haiku under the "joy" theme. I wrote it as simple as possible to concisely encapsulate the joy I want to feel when I am at the hospital and become a father.

My husband smiles wide.
Hopeful hearts beat like a drum.
“It’s a healthy boy.”

My entry is under the theme of joy, relating to the process of being able to find it. Quite relevant to my life this last year or so. :keke:

As a parallel I find
these thoughts in my mind

To seek out the joy
I must merely deploy
the defence mechanism
of which I am the sole creator

The defence is to define
which troubles are a sign
of implications that
shall follow later

Most are trivial and tame
yet I was entirely to blame
for those which I allowed
my internal debate to

Now in finding the joy
I no longer toy
with what should quite
simply not impact me

In doing that
I'm no longer in a spat
with my thoughts and
they fail to stray me

My sonnet related to the theme of joy, but as experienced throughs selfless service to others

The Raincoat

Image

The cold pervades the dark and musty space
I'm alone, a shoe with no dance partner
But when I see the dark frown on her face
I must be strong, my soul I would barter

to bend her features into a smile
She holds me close for warmth on the trek
the clouds foreshadow the icy mile
rain starts to fall first on pavement a fleck

of darkness against the grey of cobble stone
no protest as it falls on glowing flesh
departing my lips no complaint nor groan
though on my skin raw tracks are carved afresh

in cold, for I am content and her warmed
greatest joy, a labour of love performed
I finally found something to put here!

twinkle twinkle, tik tak tok
Ethan will give all the fems a taste of his 8====D

Despite his virginity he has all the skills
Because he watched all the videos of Joe Mills.

For hours sometimes he practices in his room
to explode on his twinks' faces, KABOOM!

The hero we have, not one the forum needs
until he's proven he's an animal in the sheets.

But be sure he will, everything has it's time.
His partner will be speechless and covered in slime.

Then he'll be beloved like lady Diana
and I'll think of him when I eat my next banana.

Judge Ethan my Lover

Judge Ethan my lover, My little twink lover
Your voice as edgy as my little bother
Your stories of sex so long and de-tailed
For one who has never touched buns with his pale

Ethan my lover, My little horny lover
Your voice is as masculine as my own mother
Your straight persona makes you so hot my lover
Now creep quietly my closeted GTF top-gusher

Ethan’s my protector, my daddy, my lover
Should he choose to protect me like no other
He trains daily, once preparing for the day
He re-enters the atmosphere on some poor twinks face

For the Day I board Air Canada flight 869
So Ethan can have me completely from behind
Oh Ethan oh Ethan. My little twink lover
For only I can have you. No other.
Look I finally got a profile picture :D

To Ethan,
Shores

My heart aches to be near you as I lay upon this shore.
Each sunrise and sunset without you only reminds me of your absence from my life.
Each changing tide forces me to recall the happiness and misery you bring to me.
Each swaying palm tree is an imitation of my cowardice in not telling you that I love you.
Each seed that plunges from that tree leaves me in agony when I think of the new life together that we will never share.
Each grain of sand that touches my skin summons up the thought that I am one many suitors anxious to possess your love.
Each floating cloud in the sky brings to mind the broken heart that I harbor every day you are not near me
Each dying piece of seaweed on the shorefront emulates my future when if your heart closes its port and I am not stationed in it.
Each sand dollar reminds me of the wealth, friends, and dreams I would relinquish for you.
As the storm approaches and this island prepares to sink, I ask you to give me comfort in your port and not to leave me stranded on this beautiful yet hideous shore.

Emo writing’s gotten bleak,
I haven’t jerked off in a week,
So in this poetry entry,
My gay heart I will empty:

Ethan, daddy, my chocolate prince,
Your hotness threads make most everyone wince.
But nonetheless, you fuel my desire,
To light a cross in your backyard on fire.

Corey from melbourne with the nice hair,
Though everywhere else the twink uses nair.
This year’s got me thinking, is he even a judge?
Someone get on discord, give him a nudge.

Jack, my father, my papa goy,
Lost his virginity to a jersey boy.
If it weren’t for him I probably wouldn’t be here
So bless the lord for making Jack queer

MattyK, MattyK, why are you so nice?
Is it painstaking effort to hide a grisly vice?
There’s something in your basement, of that I’m sure -
But either way, MattyK, we love your demure.

Cobalt dearest, most of our talks are closer to fights,
So I’m gonna go ahead and set shit this right:
You’re not half bad, New York for the win,
And also I call sloppy seconds on Quinn.

Tim, my love, my farmer of yams,
Endless nights It’s you I wish to ram.
Remember those evenings on cam when you used to twerk?
I promise we’ll get married when you leave McDonalds and actually work.

Jaime, I don’t think we ever really talk,
But you are most certainly one to stalk :eli:
Your kind warm soul, our cold hearts it unfreezes
I know you hang with Scott, hope you don’t get any diseases.

Kristof, Kristof! Belgian mod hottie!
When you come to New York things better get naughty :naughty:
Your sudden rise to modship left us quite distraught,
Only reason you got it is cause we get it, you’re hot.

Nabeel, my adorable South African queen,
The way you dropped The 100 was simply mean.
But I say this with good intention, so don’t think me a snob,
You’re the only one of these losers that does their fucking job.

I prepared a limerick for Jamie, my favourite host

For you I wrote this limerick,

Please Jamie, don't think I'm some kind of a freak,

When you talk to me, I wanna die,

When you are near me, I always cry,

Just notice me once - that'll do the trick

To clarify, limrick is a 5 line cute little peom, with rhyme scheme AABBA, that's quite important :P

Love is so 300 years ago...

Why do we even write about love?
Love can be so overrated
People treat it like it came from above
And the poems are just dated

Yet at some point, we have all,
Inspired by this feeling of fullness,
Wrote a poetic composition
To celebrate our wanted illness

We talk about the sheer beauty
Of the one we fully adore
And that he only needs a look
To bring the world peace or war

A cliché has been born… again
All in honor of our inamorato
Because we just had to do it
The heart demands obbligato

I love but I have dignity, I’m just fine
Because in his eyes I can find it
A heart that can stop mine

I know, I’m a hypocrite
"I hate the word homophobia. It's not a phobia. You are not scared. You are an asshole"
