Learning my dad has a likely terminal illness (recently while on holiday visiting).

I've been spending the bulk of my time since then researching treatments supported by medical research which are not currently being used in mainstream medicine and which may increase his chances of beating this thing. Fortunately there seem to be a fair few of those. Apparently the best the doctors can do is give him about a 33% chance of still being alive in 5 years' time. I'm sure we can improve upon that.

(You're kind of expected to only post on GFO once you're over the age limit; forcible removal will take place if necessary. :P I recommend setting a different colour scheme on each to avoid getting them confused. I use Quarto Asphalt on here and Quarto Red on GFO.)
