Only minutes ago, I walked out of Kingsman, Secret Service. I'm not really sure what to make of the movie, but I think I'm in love with Taron Egerton :unf:

Going through a rewatch-every-Tarantino-movie-for-the-fifteenth-time phase currently; needless to say this is a good phase.

I finally watched The Imitation Game as it arrived on "those sites" in full quality recently.

As I suspected. The film on itself is fine. Nothing really wrong with it. But as soon as you write next to it that it is based on a true story... Jesus fuck. Historic facts have been thrown out of the window with this movie.

His machine called Christopher in the movie was in fact called the Bombe in real life. Couldn't they just keep that fact straight? That was actually the one that really bugged me. Throwing the Bombe and Colossus together was another. And more. A lot more.

Some of the stuff written here:
http://www.hypable.com/the-imitation-ga ... -accuracy/
and here:
http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/no ... el-history

Why? It would have been so easy to make a movie a bit more based on reality. Artistic license is one thing. Changing historic facts and then saying that a movie is based on a true story is another.

If anyone really wants to know more about Turing than I recommend that you watch a TV movie called Codebreaker (or the original title - Britain's Greatest Codebreaker) made by Channel 4. For an acted documentary it's actually pretty good.

The Imitation game on the other hand should only be watched if you realize that the historic facts there are false.

Watched the Revenant last night. It really made an impression on me and I'd recommend it to anyone, a stunning film.

I watched The Little Prince (le petit prince to give it the source material's title) and I really loved it. Subtly funny but with a great message.

Oh and the Hateful Eight which was absolutely perfect, as I expected it would be. The dialogue, the gore, the plot. Watch it, all of you.

Recently watched Predestination and Gattaca. Both lovely films, although Pre was incredibly predictable. Ethan Hawke is underrated.

Also saw Mad Max: Fury Road for the second time. Just wanna give it some promo since it's such an incredible movie and deserves way more attention seeing as it has the 2nd most Oscar nominations this year.

I heard it was shit? My friend watched Pulp Fiction and told me he loved it, but then watched Hateful Eight the day after and was falling asleep through it - way too much dialogue apparantly.

Check out Sicario

There is a lot of dialogue (until the films turning point, after which all dialogue is following by a massive spurt of blood/brains) but it's all really clever and interesting to listen to. I wasn't bored at all during the film.

A very slow burn horror movie. Not for everyone, but I think it's kind of amazing.

In Bruges

This is both the funniest and saddest movie I've seen in ages. I don't really want to say anymore, but it really is truly excellent and if you haven't already started watching it I'm disappointed.

Went to see Suicide Squad today! The story was the cliché superhero plot I hoped this movie would've avoided, but damn, the characters are amazing. The movie is flawed, but incredibly fun and thrilling! Best DCEU movie as of yet.

The reviews though, why are all these critics so pressed? The overreaction towards this movie is almost petty. :err:
