Video Games

Unread postby Dai Stihó » 26th July, 2011, 6:54 pm

So, who plays what (type of) games?

My personal favorites are the Civilization series, Elder Scrolls Series, and City builder games. PC geek, in other words. I'm terrible at racing and sports games (except for Quidditch World Cup :glasses:) and not very good at shooter games, though I do like blowing shit up.

Oh, and Bloons Tower Defense games. Monkeys throwing darts at bloons is pure epicness

I've also been playing Left 4 Dead 2 on and off. My XBL subscription runs out in a few weeks, so then it'll be even more off.

But uh yeah if anyone has a 360, add me, my GT is SimpleBystander.

I really like survival horror, I started the genre with Resident Evil 1 and 2, then worked my way up to Code Veronica, Outbreak, then 4 and 5 came out and were action oriented (they were fun, but just not the same anymore...) Then my mom suggested I should try out Silent Hill (she heard of it and thought I might like it) so I played the 2nd one and I fell in love. Other horror games I played: Fatal Frame, Clock Tower, Obscure, and Forbidden Siren.

I'm really into Minecraft right now. I can't wait for the 1.8 update. New mobs and new creepers. :noes:

Oh, and have you all heard of the Humble Indie Bundle 3? It just started. I feel obliged to donate more this time than I did last time.

Did you know that those bundles were heavily pirated, despite the ability to get them for free anyway if you were that scummy? I hate humanity.

Xbox 360: TES*, Mass Effect**, Mirror's Edge, Forza Motorsport 3, Assassin's Creed series, Halo series, Fable series.

PC: Total War series, Sim City 4, Sims 2, CivCity: Rome, RCT3, Sid Meier's Railroads ( :glasses: ), TES IV GOTY.

* I'm actually spazzing out over Skyrim. I have a poster next to my bedhead so when I wake up in the morning I can roll over and just lie there, grinning at the wall
** Even more than Skyrim I'm Dying for ME3. I've had the Collectors Edition pre-ordered for the past 7-8 months and it doesn't come out for another 8 months. If that's not dedication, I don't know what is.

The idea of pirating them crossed my mind for a second, and then I thought, "Why the hell wouldn't you want to throw in a few bucks for charity?" You could literally contribute $0.99 and nobody would bat an eye. It's beautiful.

Since I was about 12 or 13 EQ2 has been my MMO of choice. I had a falling out with it, though and haven't gone back because I'm going to college, and it demands time.
Minecraft is my things atm. And I'm with Alex. 1.8 makes me 'gasm.
Casually, Halo CE on the computer, as well as Rise of Nations. Oh, and Homeworld 2. Any day, any time, any circumstance. I love that game.
I'm not too big of a console guy if you haven't noticed.

Kinda like an honesty box thing near my house. It has prices it would like for the items such as eggs and stuff but you can pay more or less if you really want. For the eggs it wanted like £1.20, my sister took 3 lots and left 45p :rofl2:

I'm into relistic shooters like Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (My laptop can't run Arma2 and it's not on ps3) I like playing games that require thought, so i don't play CoD anymore, even though im good. I also like Sid Meirs Civilisation Revolution, The Sims, Warhawk when i don't feel like thinking, and of course, Elder Scroll games.

I used to play a lot more back in middle school (lol when I had no life)...now not so much.

PC: Civilization series, Simcity series, Total War series, World in Conflict, random obscure games.

Console: I have never owned a console before in my life. The only time I play these are with friends.
GTA series, Halo, Warhawk, other random shooters.

I got a massive list (basically anything with a deep, engaging story), but right now I'm playing through all the Metal Gear Solids on extreme. Those Big Boss rankings are a bitch, but I already got it for Snake Eater.

I played Marvel vs Capcom 3 for the first time last night. I usually HATE fighting games like that, but after smoking a few bowls that game is fucking INSAAAAAAAAANE!!!!

I play a good mix of games. But i tend to go for RPG/Action-adventure games.
I replayed Heavy rain a month ago and fell in love with it again. I still have a few final fantasy games to finish aswell so that'll take me a few weeks.
Can't wait for the new uncharted, elder scrolls and tekken tag though.
