The DC shows are, in my oppinion, far better than the movies (except the Dark Knight triloghy). I'm following all three of them.

Pretty sure this is a majority opinion, for both the cartoons and live action shows.

I don't think so at all to be honest, I thought Arrow and The Flash were pretty average, and after what I've heard I'm not gonna watch Legends of Tomorrow either. Gotham isn't great either, and Constantine got cancelled. Only live action I hold in high regards is Smallville, but I don't think others do.

Compared to Marvel shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, I think DC should step it up a bit.

But you think most of the DC live action movies are better than those shows?

Yes, The Dark Knight trilogy is amazing, I also liked Watchmen and I enjoyed Man of Steel a lot too. I think Suicide Squad and the Justice League movie will be great too

Have yet to see BvS, but I know I'm gonna enjoy it, despite all the negative criticism. The movie had massive momentum building up for over 2 years now, a large part of which became increasingly negative even before the movie was released. Fans and critics both seem to point out the same flaws, yet it's breaking box office records and the viewer scores are around a more than decent 7,5 while the critics' scores are pathetically low. That's enough to expect a flawed yet decently entertaining movie, but sadly only Marvel seems to get away with 'decently entertaining'.

Either way, the poor reviews won't stop the DCU from starting strong, especially not with Suicide Squad coming up.

I disagree I think Flash/Arrow are better then Daredevil and JJ. Not much better, but a bit.
Gotham is brilliant, it is probably my favorite show. Never seen the other two.
So looks like Batman vs Superman broke a record, has anyone seen it here? If so spoiler free how was it?

Wow with all the negative reviews was I expecting utter crap. But I just came from the show and it wasn't bad at all. The movie theater was kinda packed too. There were some boring and obvious parts but those were kinda part of the plot anyway. Some moments felt rushed and like it was just shoehorned in (and only strong DC fans will pick up on some of them). And of course some flawed moments and silly CGI. It got REALLY better after the middle part and I think it goes a good job of leading into the next movie which was the main purpose.

I would say that the user scores aiming around the 70s is accurate. Of course that's my DC fanboyism speaking. :gaycat:

Edit: I think the actors were cast well, the plot is the flawed portion.

Edit 2: I'm looking at scores for some marvel movies, I can say that the critics are somewhat biased against DC looking at some of the reviews.

It's pretty old news that critics have somehow always preferred Marvel. I agree that Marvel has built up their cinematic universe fairly well and the MCU has movies that are very very good on their own right. However, for critics and some fans, that automatically means that whatever DC puts out, is horse shit.

This movie was far from perfect, but if you go in it without having read any reviews or you at least try to forget them and enjoy the movie, you most certainly will leave the theater satisfied and pumped for the next movies. It was a rather decent movie. I can't go full fanboy and say that it's the most perfect perfection ever created, but it sets up the future films well. Especially Wonder Woman, as stated above. The Justice League cameos could have been done better, because that was honestly just lazily done. Spoilers about that follow - I mean, Diana opened a fucking email and it was all there. The logos, the footage, hell if you read the texts underneath the logos, you'll see the abbreviations of their names. Flash being FL, Wonder Woman being WW. Referring to Chris Stuckmann's review, he made a good point by saying that someone at Lexcorp took the time to give them logos and pretty much names too :V Just way too obvious that it's to set up Justice League.

The movie also had some story issues and the editing was... questionable to say the least. The visuals were fantastic, however. It was CGI porn in the best way possible, meaning that I figuratively came a few times. Hans Zimmer also proves that he's a goddamn legend when it comes to scoring. The action scenes were wonderful and had impact.

As for the performances, Affleck was the best part along with Gadot. Baffleck was amazing, brutal and just pure badass. I eventually got behind the fact that he pretty much murders people in the movie. But I guess the Robin suit in the Batcave could be like... a reason for that? In any case, I was totally invested in Batman and Bruce Wayne. He was wonderful along with an equally gritty and witty Alfred. Supes was okay. Cavill is ridiculously attractive, but I liked him more in Man of Steel.

Gadot was badass. She has the best theme I've heard in a long time and although her appearances were 90% silent, her fight scenes showed how right Gal Gadot is for this role. I've been a Gadot supporter from day 1 and I'm now with her even more. That theme, ugh so perfect.

Eisenberg... I kind of get what he was trying to do, but I just couldn't get behind that. Simply not my cuppa tea, too much crazy for my taste.

I enjoyed the film and most definitely will go see it for a second time. I had very mixed feelings about this in the beginning when I first left the theater, but having had time to process everything and think it through, it's a good movie for setting up the universe. Snyder definitely has room for improvement, but I think he's headed in the right direction. Would like to see what other directors could do with these movies though.

I think I got a bit carried away... sorry for the text wall

I didn't really think too much on the flat-out killings considering that he done it before, probably in the very first comics he done it more ruthlessly. But I was pleasantly relieved that the one moment he actually used a bullet gun to kill was just a dream sequence.

Watched it last night, it is by far one of the best superhero movies, and the best DC movie since The Dark Knight Rises. The acting was good and the action scenes were amazing.
For those that want to know more about the character, I would recommend watching the 2009 animated movie, which is also very good, and to read Wonder Woman Rebirth along with the New 52 Wonder Woman.
