How does one prep for acid? :squint:

I had some on Friday night. It was the weirdest LSD I'd ever had... normally I just trip the fuck out, but this shit just made everything funny. Me and the group of people who did it were like laughing hard out for 24 hours. It did have a slight trip affect for me, in that 2 of the girls we were with's eyes kept looking to me as if they were all black, and I just refused to look at them. Only one of us in the group was majorly tripping, she was just laughing all night and said that everything was like an oil painting. It was pretty funny cause she said "Seriously guys everything is like an oil painting, it's like everything around me is painted like that painting you have hanging over there *points*" we all look, and it was a photograph. Of course leading to another laughing fit.

Wow, didn't intend to ramble. Apologies.

This is why most people should not be taking hallucinogens if they're not willing to put in the effort beforehand.

Knowledge is power. Before ingesting any substance one should read up about it as much as possible, and especially take into account proper precautions to minimize risks. This is especially important when you're dealing with psychedelic drugs that will have a drastic impact on your mind during the experience.

Most people who have bad trips have them of their own accord. It's usually their fault. Perhaps they allowed themselves to trip under an unfavorable set and setting, or chose the wrong dose, or even the wrong drug. Maybe they did everything right in the days leading up to the trip but were in a mood that was not supportive of the trip environment, so the trip soon turned sour (psychedelics are not a mood booster but a mood amplifier. If you're scared before taking it, you'll be scared on it. Same goes for being angry or depressed). That's why it is vital to understand the drug and know as much about it as possible, and also have an idea of what might go wrong and how to avoid it.

I also recommend the excellent book "The Psychedelic Explorer's Guide: Safe, Therapeutic, and Sacred Journeys" by Dr. James Fadiman. It provides a volume of tips and safe practices one should follow when searching for the psychedelic experience.

Had you known how long LSD lasts you'd have realized that the drug you ingested wasn't LSD. Acid only lasts for 12-14 hours. Couple that with the face that most stuff being sold as LSD these days isn't actually LSD, I'd bet that you took an RC. Probably an NBOMe or DOx chemical. Did it taste bitter? If you didn't have a significant mental component to the trip and it lasted 24 hours, it's definitely not LSD.

You call that prepping, I call that common sense. Everything written in those articles is basic knowledge I knew about without even having to read up on it. Of course if you take the wrong dosage, do it with the wrong people, in the wrong environmental setting, in the wrong mood then your experience isn't going to be a good one.

But much like with alcohol, every person is different. It's all about finding your personal limits, starting off slowly until you find those limits and subsequently what's best for you.

As for what I had not being LSD, that's more than likely. Although, I'm not particularly bothered by that fact. I just look at it in the same light as pills. Not every pill you stake is going to be the same; sometimes you get a good one, sometimes a bad one. Sometimes they'll even try to rip you off and sell you dexies instead. But at the end of the night, if I've had a good time, I couldn't care less.

Perhaps that is irresponsible of me, but it's the truth.
I'm not arrogant. I'm just better than you.
