Unread postby k4ganb » 16th September, 2017, 7:51 pm

So Hi i'm Kagan i'm new but I found your forum searching for fashion advice. A of right now I only buy from American Eagle.... and as y'all probably know they have basically turned from a store with awesome t shirts and skinny jeans to all joggers and athletic wear. So i'm having a trouble trying to find cloths to buy and mostly all i wear are flannels (see bottom of page ). So what are some good stored to shop on line, because I live in Lubbock TX and they don't have much. And if you have any advice for what to wear please give it I LITTERLY ONLY WEAR FLANNELS HELP.

First of all, ignore Pity his mum still picks his clothes and he wears Walmart sunglasses :tea: . But omg flannels nooo the only reason you should own a flannel is if you're attending a dress up party as a lumberjack! My advice is always stick with the basics first, get one or two nice pairs of jeans and they'll be your best friend especially black jeans they literally go with everything. As for tops it really depends on your personal style with what colours, patterns etc you want but I recommend you get a few plain white and black tees they always come in handy and are great for layering. In regards to online stores, I'm not really too well versed on the American online shopping scene but I guess ASOS could be a good start or even H&M ( :eli: )

I agree but i've worn flannels at least 3 to 5 times a school week and think I need more cloths. I have about 12 flannels of different patterns and colors ;/

Sounds like you need to collect some wardrobe staples. These are the basic bones of your wardrobe that you can dress up or down depending on the pants, shoes, and accessories (watch, bracelet, scarf, hat, etc) you wear. Theres nothing wrong with flannels, but I would limit their wear to only once a week (maybe twice if you alternate colors and don't wear them two days in a row). I would suggest some of these basic pieces to diversity:

Try a denim jacket:

Some solid sweatshirts and sweaters that look nice on their own and don't need to be layered:

Throw a leather jacket into a mix:
(personally, I prefer black leather with a single middle zipper and no collar, but you can branch out if you prefer)

I also think everyone should have at least one nice-looking thin hoodie.

At least one nice button-down:

Once you get more comfortable, you can start wearing some more interesting/fun variations on styles:

Such as a buttoned, hooded sweater:

Short-sleeved sweatshirts:
